SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR EDUCATIONAL DESCRIPTIONS
THANK YOU for helping us build this page with examples of educational programs designed and implemented by occupational therapists.
We are looking for examples of Community Engaged Learning, Level I and Level II Fieldworks and OTD Residencies that you and your colleagues have developed that you are willing to share.
If you are willing to submit a voiced over PowerPoint presentation, that’s great!! See the guidelines below.
We will acknowledge receipt and contact you BEFORE we load your contribution to this website.

VOICED-OVER POWERPOINT GUIDELINES
GOAL: Practitioners, FW Educators and/or students will share examples of educational programs that they have implemented in criminal justice settings or for persons with criminal histories.
FORMAT: A voiced over Powerpoint presentation. A short video without slides or some other creative movie with audio is also acceptable but clear visuals will often help get your ideas across effectively.
LENGTH: Please keep the audio presentation to 5-7 slides and 6-8 minutes maximum run-time.
OUTLINE: In order to have some consistent structure, we’d appreciate if you would organize your presentation with these elements.
* Slide 1: Provide the who, what, where sort of information. Introduce yourself, the name of your program, where you implemented it and with whom. Colleagues often ask this very simple question, “How did you get started?” So please, briefly tell us how you gained access. If this example, was part of a class you can simply say this.
* Slide 2: Provide some select details about the setting where you created your program and the population you worked with. Share the results of any formal or informal needs assessment you completed so the viewer gets a sense of what were key issues you identified as within the scope of occupational therapy practice. An image of the setting would be great!
* Slide 3-6: Use these slides to give us an overview of your program. If it is a Community Engaged Learning experience or a Level I program identify the length/structure of the experience and tell us who provided the on-site supervision. If your program is designed using a specific practice model, tell us about that. If your students use specific assessments tell us what these are. Give us an overview of the structure/components of your program. You won’t have time to give all the details of your effort so explain and give an example of selected component. Tell us the strategies you used to measured outcomes.
* Slide 7: Tell us a few of the most important the lessons you have learned and any missteps to avoid.
Thank you for your contribution.
