VOICED-OVER POWERPOINT GUIDELINES
GOAL: Practitioners will share examples of programs that they have implemented in criminal justice settings or for persons with criminal histories.
FORMAT: A voiced over Powerpoint presentation. A short video without slides or some other creative movie is also acceptable but visuals will often help get your ideas across effectively.
LENGTH: Please keep the audio presentation to 5-7 slides and 6-8 minutes maximum run-time.
OUTLINE: In order to have some consistent structure we’d appreciate if you would organize your presentation with these elements.
* Slide 1: Provide the who, what, where sort of information. Introduce yourself, the name of your program, where you implemented it and with whom. Colleagues often will ask this very simple question, “How did you get started?” So please, briefly tell us how you gained access.
* Slide 2: Provide some select details about the setting where you created your program and the population you worked with. Share the results of any formal or informal needs assessment you completed so the viewer gets a sense of what were key issues you identified as within the scope of occupational therapy practice. An image of the setting would be great!
* Slide 3-6: Use these slides to give us an overview of the program. If you designed using a specific practice model, tell us that. If you use specific assessments tell us what these are. Give us an overview of the structure/components of your program. If you have been measuring outcomes please share your strategies.
* Slide 7: Tell us a few of the most important the lessons you have learned and any missteps to avoid.
