that the rate of incarceration in the United States is the highest among all industrialized nations.

WE KNOW any person convicted of a felony will experience a lifetime of barriers to satisfying occupational performance including obstacles to education, employment, housing, and participation in the political process.

WE KNOW that hundreds of thousands of incarcerated people are released to their community each year and that far too many return.
